John Sandusky was a four-year starter for the Wildcats from 1946-49 and was inducted to the Varsity Club Hall of Fame as part of the 1982 induction class.  He was a member of Villanova teams that tallied a record of 28-10-1 (.731) during his career, and was regarded as one of the nation’s quickest big men at 6-foot-1 and 260 pounds.  Sandusky earned N.Y. Sun All-America honors in 1949 and was an honorable mention pick by the United Press and Associated Press in both 1948 and 1949.  He went on to have a success pro career, playing for the Cleveland Browns (1950-55) and the Green Bay Packers (1956).
