A native of Mine Hill, N.J. who developed into a key player by his senior year, Paul Morra played for the Villanova varsity squad from 1956-58. He was known for his effective blocking skills as a tackle and held down a role on the team’s second unit during his career. Morra graduated in 1959 and was inducted to the Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1994.

Prior to arriving on campus Morra had been an all-state and all-county scholastic player while serving as team captain at Morristown (N.J.) High School. He came to the Wildcats in 1955 and played for the freshman team which was at that time coached by Villanova Hall of Famer David DiFilippo. He moved up to the varsity squad in 1956 and spent two years in a mostly reserve role.

Entering his final collegiate season, Morra stood out for his play during Spring drills in 1958 and earned a larger share of playing time his senior year. The season would turn out to be the Wildcats best one of his varsity seasons and the team went 6-4 under Frank Reagan, with notable road victories over Bsotno College and Dayton in addition to consecutive home wins over Wake Forest and Richmond midway through the year.
