Carmen Porreca was a switch-hitting infielder and played for Villanova from 1969-71.  He graduated in 1971 and was a 2004 inductee to the Varsity Club Hall of Fame.  Porreca was a .294 career hitter for the Wildcats, and his known collegiate statistics include a .356 on-base percentage and a .394 slugging percentage.  He had 35 runs scored and 18 runs batted in while totaling 10 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 12 stolen bases.
 
Villanova went 32-25 during Porreca’s three years on the team, with the best of the three seasons coming in 1970 when the team posted a 12-7 record.  Porreca batted .353 with 13 runs scored, 24 hits and four doubles for the 1970 season.
