Jill Basile amassed 33 career goals, 13 assists and 79 points during her Villanova career and was at one time the school record holder for both goals per game (1.10) and points per game (2.65) in a single season. She played for the Wildcats from 1993-96 and was inducted to the Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2016.

Basile was a three-time All-BIG EAST selection, earning second team honors for the 1993, 1994 and 1996 seasons. As a senior, she was a first team NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection and was the winner of Villanova’s Sister Mary Margaret Cribben Award. Basile was also a two-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team her junior and senior seasons.

As a senior in 1996, Basile recorded one of the best offensive seasons in Wildcats history. She scored 22 goals on the year which tied what was then the single-season school record set by fellow Varsity Club Hall of Famer Sharon Seiz eight years earlier. Basile also led the team with nine assists and 53 points in 1996.

During the season she set what were then school records for consecutive games scoring a goal (six) and consecutive games recording a point (10). Her point streak lasted nearly an entire month from September 1-29 and in the 10-game stretch she accumulated 14 goals, five assists and 33 points. Within the 10-game span she also had a streak of four straight games with an assist. Later in the season from October 10-29 Basile put together a separate five-game streak of recording a point.

At the time of her graduation, Basile ranked fourth in school history in career points and was fifth in career goals scored. She recorded six career multi-goal games and one hat trick, all of which came during her 1996 standout campaign. Her 53 points in 1996 were the second-most in a season in school history at the time. Basile also was tied for fourth in the Villanova record book when she graduated with seven game-winning goals, of which four came during the 1996 season.
